My mom is here!! Yipppeee!!

It always is nice to have somebody staying over at my house. Imagine, just H and me and our boring routine of going to work, coming back, cooking (with no help from hubby), cleaning up, doing the laundry and running around vaccuming the house when somebody comes to say hello. Now, if this sounds boring, try doing it! Its downright depressing! I am from a huge family. I stayed in a joint family and even when we moved over to stay as a nuclear family, I had many friends and too many "family" visiting to be bored and the important part... I was the kid of the family and didn't move a finger for any of the above mentioned chores!!

Having grumbled about all the work I have to do, I am very excited that my mom is here. Though she says (insists) "You go sit", I cannot do it. I didn't invite my mom here just to take up all the work while I sit and enjoy. I invited her to spend some time with Harish and me and also to relieve Harish from my not-so-proffessional cooking. My mom finishes cooking in about a half hour!!!!! I can't even think of such a feat now. I fight off all the protestations and do help with the chores. But her cooking is the best! And she is preparing to "organize" my house a bit even though she insits I am maintaining the house well.. Now, which one is true??!!! I am confused.

Been there :) I can totally relate to how confused you must be. My mom too said I maintain my house well bt that dint stop her from organizing the house further lol! missing all that, now that she's gone back to india

Hi Ramya!

Though it was fun to let her organize, I was wondering if what she said was true.. I like to think I maintain a neat house! :-)

I feel your pain too! Man, the days after mom left was horrible.
